Mirchi k Salan (withoiut onion garlic)



Ingredients:


  • 6 big chilies cut into half
  • 2 big tomato chopped
  • small ginger
  • 1 tea spoon turmeric
  • 1 tea spoon red chilli powder
  • 1 tea spoon tamarind paste
  • salt to taste
  • Chopped celantro (coriander leave)
  • 1 table spoon oil

Dry roast:

  • 1 tea spoon cumin (jeera) seeds
  • 1 tea spoon fenugreek (methi) seeds
  • 4 to 5 peppercorns (kalimirch)
  • 1 tea spoon mustered (sarso)seeds
  • 1/4 cup pea nut(mungfalli)
  • 2 table spoon Poppy seeds (khas khas)
  • 2 table spoon coriander seeds (dhania)

Tadka Ingredients 

  • 2 cloves (laung)
  • 1 Black cardamom
  • 2 cardamom
  • 1 small cinnamon
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 5 to 6 curry leaf
  • 2 table spoon oil
  • 1 tea spoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tea spoon asafetida

Method:

  • Cut the chilies and remove the seeds and then deep fry in  hot oil until they cooked and turn white , careful not to burn.
  • Dry roast all the ingredients mentioned in dry roast section and then grind it.
  • Add spoon of oil in pan 
  • Add mustard seeds, asafetida and then ginger fry it for 4 to 5 minutes until turn light brown.
  • Add tomato's and little salt cover it for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Turn the heat off. wait for 5 minutes and then grind the material smooth.
  • Take oil in pan and then  add all the tadka ingredients mention above and turmeric
  • Add tomato and tomato puree saute it for 2 to 3 minutes and then add  dry roast powder.
  • Add red chili powder
  • Add chilies mix them  and then cover it for 2 minutes.
  • add 1 cup of water and tamarind paste. 
  • Add salt and then cover it for few minutes and cook it until gravy is thick.
  •  Serve hot with chapati or any rice item.
