Pita Bread and Hummus Recipe 


Pita Bread 

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups All purpose flour (Maida)
  • 1 Cups Wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup yogurt or 1 table spoon yeast
  • 1 tea spoon sugar
  • 1 tea spoon baking soda (if using yeast no need of soda)
  • 1 table spoon Olive oil / Vegetable oil 
  • salt to taste
  • 2 cups luke warm water 

Direction :

  • In a large Bowl mix all the ingredients , mix it well .
  • mix water and knead it properly.
  • keep the dough for minimum 2 hours.
  • Divide dough into  small balls and flatten each with roller (belan).
  • preheat the oven at 450 Degree for 5 minutes 
  • Bake it for 4 to 5 minutes , until the bread has gone into a full balloon or until it will turn into lightly brown in color.
  • when baked place it into plate keep it cool for 2 minutes  and then cut into triangle shape.
  • Serve hot with HUMMUS.



Tips:

  • If u r using yeast , before kneading add the some warm water in that and stir to dissolve that ,then add into the dry ingredients .
  • If u r using yeast no need of soda and curd(yogurt). 
  • Instead of oven we can cook it on gas using a big pan (tawa) .

 Hummus


Ingredients :

  • 450 grams of chick peas (kabuli chana )
  • 1/4 cup Tahini sauce
  • 1/4 cup Lemon juice
  • 3 table spoon of Olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • 1 table spoon ground cumin
  • 3 to 4 spoon of water
  • some small grape tomato for serving 
  • 2 spoon olive oil for 

Directions 

  • Drain the chick peas and boil it properly or U can use caned chick peas as well .
  • In a mixer grinder put the tahini sauce , lemon juice,  olive oil  and grind it for 1 minute 
  • Add boiled chick peas , ground cumin and salt , process it for more 2 to 3 minutes . make it a fine paste .
  • Add water and grind it again.
  • Place the paste into serving bowl  , drizzle about 1 table spoon of olive oil over the top and decorate with grape tomato. 
  • Serve with hot Pita's.
