Sahi Paneer Masala ( without onion garlic)


Sahi Paneer Masala


Ingredients

  • 1 cube Paneer diced
  • 1/2 tea spoon Asafoetida (hing)
  • 1 tea spoon turmuric (haldi)
  • 2 big tomatoes roughly cut
  • 1 small ginger
  • 5 to 6 cashew nuts (kaju)
  • 1 tea spoon Poppy seeds
  • 1 table Spoon chili powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup whole milk or 1/4 cup half and half or whipped cream
  • Cilantro leaves chopped
  • Oil

Dry roast masala 

  • small cinnamon stick (dal chini)
  • 1 tea spoon cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1 big cardamom ( black elaichi)
  • 2 small cardamom (green elaichi)
  • 1 tea spoon coriander seeds ( dhania)
  • 2 cloves (laung)

Whole garam masala for tadka:

  • 1 tea spoon cumin seeds (jeera)
  • small cinnamon stick (dal chini)
  • 2 dry red chiilies
  • 1 big cardamom ( black elaichi)
  • 2 small cardamom (green elaichi)
  • 2 cloves (laung)
  • 1 bay leaf

Direction:

  • Dry roast all the ingredients witch are in a dry roast section and grind it properly.
  • Heat the oil in pan and then add ginger and tomato , saute it for few minutes and little salt and cover it until tomato gets soft .
  • Turn the heat off and let it cool fir few minutes and then grind it add cashew and poppy seeds and the grind it properly.
  • Heat 2 spoon of oil in pan  and add all the whole garam masala as a tadka , let it crack.
  • Add tomato and cashew paste, saute it for 4 to 5 minutes or until oil gets off from tomato.
  • Add Paneer cubes, mix it properly.
  • Add milk or cream whatever u have. and then add dry garam masala powder.
  • Cover it for 5 to 10 minutes or until gravy gets thick.
  • Sprinkle coriander leave.
  • Serve hot with Nan , chapati or jeera rice.


Tips:

You can add onion garlic if u want, 1 small onion and 4 cloves garlic. Cut it roughly , chop it and  saute it with tomato and  ginger and then make a paste of that.
