Sabudana poha/Kitchdi

Sabudana Poha/Kitchdi  


1 Cup sabudana wash drained 
1 Cup water
1/2 cup crushed pea nut 
3 to 4 green chillies chopped
1 small tomato chopped
 1/2 table spoon sugar
5 to 6 curry leaves (kadi patta)
1 table spoon lemon juice
1 table spoon cumin seeds(jeera)
1 table spoon mustard seeds (rai, sarso)
4 table spoon ghee or oil
cilantro leaves chopped 
Sendha namak /falahari namak to taste


  • Wash and drain sabudana and then soaked it with equal level of water for more then 1 hour.
  • Heat oil in pan add cumin, and mustard seeds.
  • After cracking add green chillies, curry leaves saute it for 2 minutes and then add crushed pea nut, saute for 2 to 3 minutes, be careful peanut should not be burn.
  • Add chopped tomato's saute again for 2 to 3 minutes when tomato's are soft  then add soaked sabudana.
  • Mix it well and add sugar , salt and lemon juice.
  • Cover it for few minutes 
  • Sprinkle some cilantro and serve hot.


If you are making this for general not for falahar/vrat  then can use normal salt.
