Gajar Halwa

Gajar Halwa 


2 cups grated carrot (gajar)
1 Cup whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream or malai or half and half
4 table spoon ghee or unsalted butter
1 tea spoon cardamom powder
3/4 Cup sugar 
Chopped almond and cashew or any dry fruits.


  • Heat ghee in a pan , add grated carrot, saute continuously for 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Add milk in that and add cardamom powder and then cover it for 10 minutes, stir in between.
  • Keep steering until it gets thick.
  • Add sugar and dry fruits and then add heavy cream  mix well and cook again for 3 to 4 minutes until halwa gets thick.
  • Sprinkle some more dry fruits while serving.
  • Serve  Hot or chilled.
