Makhane ki kheer

Makhane ki kheer 


1 cup Makhana
4 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 table spoon pure ghee or unsalted butter 
dry fruits like almond, cashew, pistachio , raisins 
1/2 tea spoon cardamom powder
pinch of kesar


  • Heat ghee in pan and other side boil milk in large bottom pan.
  • Add makhane in ghee , saute it for few minutes.
  • Take it out from the heat. 
  • If milk is boiled add cardamom powder , sugar and kesar 
  • Cook on low heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until milk gets creamy.
  • Stir the milk regularly otherwise milk gets stick from the bottom and burn .
  • Add makhana and stir contentiously add dry fruits mix well and keep it on heat for again  for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Take it out from the heat.
  • Serve hot or chill.
