Methi Matar Malai

Methi Matar Malai 


1 Cup matar 
2 Cups methi leaves chopped
2 Table spoon oil
2 Big tomato's 
4 Green chilies
1 Inch ginger
2 tea spoon red chili powder
1/2 tea spoon garam masala
1 Table spoon cumin seeds
1 Table spoon coriander powder
1 Cup milk or 1 cup heavy cream
1/2 tea spoon sugar
1 Tea spoon turmuric (haldi)
salt to taste

For Tadka 

1 table spoon cumin (jeera)
2 Green Cardamom (elaichi)
1 Black Cardamom (badi elachi)
1 small cinnamon (dal chini) 
1 Pinch asafoetida
2  Dry red chili

Make a puree

Add tomato's cumin seeds, ginger , green chilies, make a smooth paste.


Wash and chop the methi leaves , saute it in a pan for 2 to 3 minutes add little salt and keep aside.
Take mutter boil it for some time, let it cook and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan add all the tadka ingredients, let them crack.
Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and mix well/
Add tomato puree, let it cook for to 5 minutes or until  oil gets off from the tomato.
Now add muter and methi together add salt and mix well.
Add milk and red chili powder and garam masala then mix well and cover it for 4 to 5 minutes or until gravy gets little thick. 
Serve hot with Rice, chapati or Nan !
