Braided Bread Recipe

Braided Bread stuffed with Paneer


for the dough

2 cups Whole wheat flour
1/2 cup All purpose flour (Maida)
1 tbsp Active dry Yeast
1 tsp Sugar
3/4 cup warm Water
3/4 tsp Salt

4 table spoon Pizza Sauce 

For Stuffing

2 Cups shredded paneer
Colored capsicum sliced
Olive sliced
1/2 tea spoon thai Baisil leaves or dried basil
1/2 tea spoon oregano
1 tea spoon chopped green chili
1 table spoon chopped fresh cilantro (dhania patti)
1/2 tea spoon chaat masal
pinch of red chili (optional)
salt to taste


For dough

Mix yeast and sugar in warm water. Keep aside for 10 min.
In a bowl add both flours, salt & fermented yeast solution.
Prepare dough and keep in a bowl  cover it properly and keep aside for 1 hour.
Knead with hands and make 3 equal balls.

For stuffing

Shred paneer in a bowl.
add capsicum, olive , dried basil and oregano.
Add green chilies, cilantro, chaat masal and salt.
Mix it properly and keep it aside.


Preheat the oven at 375 F and you can use OTG as well in otg you can set a temperature  to 180 C.
Greece the cooking tray with oil.
Flatten dough & cut on both sides with a knife, leaving space in the middle for the filling (as shown in the pic below)
Spread pizza sauce in a middle section.
Place the filling in the middle of flattened dough and start braiding.

Sprinkle chat masala on the top and then place it on oven and bake it for  20 to 25 min.
Check in between and then if bread is cooked and turned in a light brown color broil for 1 to 2 minutes.
Serve Hot , if needed you can serve with hot sauce or green chutuny.


You can use any masala of your choice for stuffing.
